Dr. Aks feels patient education is critical to the success of any treatment and compliance. She feels that knowledge is empowering. “I try to empower my patients by educating them about their disease in terms that they will understand so they will be less fearful. Then, they will have the courage to endure their treatment more successfully and look forward to moving on with their life.”
